By the end of September we will each be assigned an instrument to learn. We will share our school's instruments this year amongst our intermediate classes.
While we have proper sanitation for cleaning mouthpieces, here are some options for families not wanting to share an instrument:
Option 1)
Purchase your own mouthpiece. Long & McQuade (music store) has offered to sell our families individual mouthpieces for instruments at the school discounted rate. Mr. Stav will have to tally who wants one and will get a price from the store and will make a bulk order.
Option 2)
Rent your assigned instrument from Long & McQuade. You can see the prices involved in this option. This would be done by you going to their store (Pickering - Brock Road & 401, or North Oshawa - Simcoe & Taunton)
Option 3)
Purchase your assigned instrument from a music store, or online second hand marketplace (Kijiji, Facebook Marketplace, etc.)

If It's Too Loud - Decibel Reducers
Mr. Stav uses these "Loop" 'Decibel Reducers' to protect his ears when the music room gets too loud. They fit like headphone ear buds, but serve to reduce the volume to your ear drums.
TIP: Mr. Stav often sees these at the Amazon Return Store for $1.99
("Treasure Bin" - 307 Brock St S, Whitby)
This year,
Mr. Stav will be experimenting with some of our classes learning the number system for their instruments
